Rebecca’s first update from the field was encouraging.
At this point, her main goal is to just identify and meet different families that have children with disabilities. She is taking her time to learn about them and get to know them better. She prays with them and shares her own personal experiences of living with a disability. Rebecca said:
From the beginning of the week I have met two kids with cerebral palsy and three with hydrocephalus. i am glad I left them with joy after sharing with them my personal experience having a disability…… even though the big need right now is lack of physical therapy because many parents cannot afford it and appliances like walkers, crutches and wheelchairs….. it was sad for me to see some kids who can walk with support but instead crawling. I am glad I have managed to make this step and my Swahili language is more better now 🙂
I’m looking forward to hearing more updates from the field!
