Surgeries and Spiritual Support
Our International Missions Program was established by Dr. Richard Bransford. Dr. Bransford worked with Signposts Ministries for over a decade to continue to provide care to children, even after his “retirement.”
Dr. Branford passed away in July of 2022. According to his obituary, “His greatest desire was to meet the needs of neglected and disabled children. He never hesitated to go to some of the most dangerous and hard-to-reach places to provide medical care to the most marginalized populations. Even after retirement to Boone, NC, in 2011, he continued to travel to Africa multiple times a year to train surgeons and served on many Samaritan’s Purse emergency response teams all over the world.”
Today, Dr. Bransford’s legacy continues through the surgical work of his son, Rick Bransford MD. Dr. Rick Bransford is the Professor and Spine Fellowship Director for the Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine at the University of Washington Harborview Medical Center. Dr. Bransford’s wife, Millie, also continues to make missions trips and has been accompanied by their daughter Bethany. Millie continues to maintain the relationships and spiritual support she and Dr. Bransford built over their lifetime.
Donations can be marked to go towards the International Missions Program. These donations cover the costs of surgeries and travel costs.
Equipment
Signposts Ministries also donates supplies and equipment to Dr. Bransford’s mission program, other local missions groups, and Samaritan’s Purse. Equipment and supplies can be donated through our equipment and supply program. Financial donations can be made to help cover transportation and shipping costs.
