He reached down and grabbed the broken egg with the candy exposed on the ground. I couldn’t believe it!

My son, John gave me a glimpse of Jesus in this act.

We were at an Easter egg hunt with our church, when my son reached down to get the broken egg, with its contents exposed on the ground. A piece of the egg had been smashed, and the candy was on the dirt. There were other colorful eggs around, and John knew they contained candy inside, but he wanted the broken one. He even smiled when he saw it. He was so excited!

I saw Jesus in this act. Jesus wants us knowing we are broken. He smiles at us and knows the contents inside us. He chooses us and wants us.

Elisha prayed, “O Lord, open his eyes so he may see.” 2 Kings 6:17

Open my eyes Lord that I may see your kind of love. You love me, and I am so broken. You have chosen me and even desire me, knowing my brokenness. Thank you for knowing all the details, all of my sin, and loving me so deeply. Thank you for dying on the cross and saving my life. I desperately need you. Thank you for being my savior.
